Situation Analysis:

NSW Fire Brigades need part time fireman in the majority of Country Town Fire Stations. It is a highly demanding role where most people do it for the challenge, the training and sense of community involvement.

Target Audience:

Typically self employed retained fire fighters want to help their community.
Emotionally, this is an empowering experience as the level of training and the responsibility builds character, resilience under pressure, teamwork and leadership skills.

Key Insight:

This role delivers a sense of Purpose, Place and Pride.

Proposition:

Heroes are made, not born

Communications Strategy

We recommended that beer coasters to be distributed in hotels and clubs in target towns, posters to be placed in shop windows, Community Announcement radio advertising, and posters and flyers for distribution at local events within towns. We plan to go on regional TV over 2009 – 2010.
